Although the busy downtown core is less than 5 miles away, a walk in Southlands will reveal open vistas and meadows where horses and other animals graze. Because land is available to keep animals, an equestrian community flourishes here, anchored by the 16-acre Southlands Riding Club. Roughly 300 horses live here on about 100 properties, spread over approximately 250 acres. Southlands is home to BC's largest Pony Club.
